The United Motorcoach Association (UMA) is made up of more than 900 professional bus and motorcoach companies, and more than 250 “associate” members, the suppliers, manufacturers, and travel partners who serve our dynamic industry. The purpose of UMA is to protect and promote the interests and welfare of privately owned common carriers of motorcoach passengers.

As a member of the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), we are part of an international organization that has been representing the transit industry for over 130 years.
APTA members serve the public interest by providing safe, efficient and economical transit services, and by improving those services to meet national energy, environmental, and financial concerns. Over 90% of passengers using transit in the U.S. and Canada are carried by APTA members.

ABA represents approximately 1,000 motorcoach and tour companies in the U.S. and Canada. Its members operate charter, tour, regular route, airport express, special operations and contract services (commuter, school, transit). Another 2,800 member organizations represent the travel and tourism industry and suppliers of bus products and services who work in partnership with the North American motorcoach industry. ABA is also home to the ABA Foundation, a nonprofit organization with an emphasis on scholarships, research, and continuing education.

The National RV Dealers Association (RVDA) is the only national association dedicated to advancing the RV retailer’s best interests through education, member services, industry leadership, and market expansion programs that promote the increased sale and use of RVs while enhancing the positive image of the RV experience.
RVDA is at the forefront of dealer-manufacturer issues, state and federal legislation affecting the industry, the new national Go RVing advertising campaign, and educational programs covering all aspects of dealer operations.

The Joint Council on Transit Wireless Communications is a newly formed organization devoted to assisting the passenger transportation industry with their wireless communications needs. They are a non-advocacy group dedicated to information exchange. To ensure they effectively assist transportation providers with their needs in the rapidly changing field of wireless communications, the Joint Council on Transit Wireless Communications promotes the involvement of public and private transit organizations, non-emergency medical transport, senior transit, school buses, taxicabs and limousine companies.


icoArrow Northwest Motorcoach Association |

The Northwest Motorcoach Association proudly serves the needs of Motorcoach companies throughout the Pacific Northwest states of Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
The Association was established to give motorcoach operators one voice when dealing with local and state governments and to provide them with current and relevant operating, marketing and government industry information. The forum for this transfer of information is quarterly meetings, where industry experts address the group over lunch. The culmination of these meetings occurs in October at the Northwest Motorcoach Association Road-eo in Yakima.

The Motorcoach Marketing Council is an operator-driven coalition of motorcoach operators, coach vendors, state/regional/national associations, suppliers, vendors and travel/tourism partners all working together to improve the industry’s image. The Motorcoach Marketing Council Board of Directors includes eight operators, one Gray Line representative, one Trailways representative, one state association representative, and the Executive Directors of UMA, ABA, and IMG; all of whom agree that the Council is the best way to achieve this marketing goal.

The Oregon Transit Association assists its members in the development and improvement of efficient, safe and convenient transportation services, techniques and methods, facilities and equipment. The OTA does this by providing assistance with professional development and management through educational programs, technical assistance and networking opportunities, formulating legislation and promoting effective communication between government bodies.
