New data show bus ridership on the rise
According to a recent study published by DePaul University, daily intercity curbside bus departures increased 32% in the past year. Scheduled departures—including those of Greyhound Lines—increased 7%.
Soaring gas prices may be a primary factor, but the availability of amenities like free high-speed internet via WiFi and fares that are cheaper than planes and trains are also likely to contribute to the increase. The data indicate this is the fastest pace of growth since 2008.
